The short answer
Jeep has opened orders for the 2027 Compass, which marks the model’s 20th year. Adaptive cruise control is now standard on every trim, and the Limited, Limited Altitude and Trailhawk add a wireless charging pad and second-row USB ports. Prices start at $31,985, including a $1,995 destination charge. Jeep hasn’t said yet when the 2027 models will reach dealers.
What’s new for 2027
- Adaptive cruise control is standard across the lineup.
- A wireless charging pad and second-row USB ports are standard on Limited, Limited Altitude and Trailhawk.
- A new Premium Lighting Group adds LED headlights, taillights and fog lights (optional on Limited, Limited Altitude and Trailhawk).
- A Driver Assist Package adds a 360-degree camera and a universal garage door opener on those same trims.
- The Limited Altitude is now a $995 step up from the Limited.
- New colors arriving later in the model year: Ghost, Copper Shino, ’41 and Goldilocks.
Trims and engine
There are five trims: Latitude, Latitude Altitude, Limited, Limited Altitude and Trailhawk. Every one uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder rated at 200 horsepower and 221 lb-ft of torque. The Trailhawk is the off-road pick, with Jeep’s Trail Rated badge.
Our take
Standard adaptive cruise is the change most Compass drivers will notice. It keeps a set distance from the car ahead, which takes some of the work out of highway runs to Evansville, Bowling Green or Louisville. It’s a practical feature to get on a vehicle that starts near $32,000.
